Kathy Vreeland

Executive Director, Visit Buellton • Local Culture

Originally from St. Clair, Michigan; Kathy studied Business & Hospitality Management at Northwood University. Here she met her future husband Dan, whose family was also from Michigan but had relocated to a small town called Buellton, California in the late 1980s. After graduation they married and moved to Buellton to be close to the Vreeland family business - the local Ford dealership.

While managing a local motel, Kathy joined the board of directors for the Buellton Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau. Upon leaving the hospitality industry to begin a family, Kathy remained active in the Chamber and played an important role in the community. As the mother of two young boys, she became an active member in school, sports and PTSA.

In 2007, the Buellton Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau was in need of a new Executive Director, and Kathy was honored with the position. For over a decade now she has watched Buellton businesses grow and flourish, and couldn’t be more proud to represent this wonderfully passionate community. She feels it is a great honor to live and work in the community that was so welcoming to her upon her arrival.

Her office is located at the Buellton Visitors Center on Avenue of Flags. If you want to stop in and say hello, she’d love to hear from you!
